The Natural Gas Vehicle Association (NGVA) established in 1992 is the trade association representing the UK NGV industry. It is focused on proactively initiating and supporting the action necessary to grow the market.

ENGVA was formed in January 1994 by a core group of 63 member companies from 17 countries. These included natural gas utilities, NGV equipment and vehicle suppliers, as well as environmentalists and individuals. ENGVA became operational with a full time Executive Director in July 1994.
